To your left is The Doorman. He's Big Franks's Doorman now - well, actually he's everyone who stays at this hotel's Doorman. He is the only one who gets to wear a hat - the attendant lowly bellboys have short jackets and wear no hats. This guy, as with most doormen, is unfailingly polite both when putting Big Frank into taxis or when greeting him when he returns. Although, Big Frank does have to admit that, in this doorman's presence, he does feel a little inadequately dressed. Why is it that the doorman gets to wear the snazziest outfit of all. Think about it, even when dressed formally it is unlikely that you will create the same impression as the doorman. His is an almost military bearing with such coordination and just look at those buttons. Outside the hotel - he is the king! Nobody messes with the doorman. However, inside - it's the domain of the concierge, and much as Big Frank admires the doorman's outfit, his real envy, and perhaps next career, would be that of the concierge. However, that's a story for another day.
